Interests are a new system introduced in Fire Emblem: Chrono. Interests show what a character is most interested in, and gives the character a trait that aligns with their interest. Along with that, the avatar gains a special, permanent bonus based on their trait. Once you pick your interest, it cannot be changed.

List of Interests Edit

  • Loves to Cook - Characters who love to cook express quite an interest in the culinary arts. If the avatar has this interest, the food made in the mess hall will be of better quality, providing better stat boosts and being less likely to have a negative trait. Characters with this interest will be more likely to appear in the mess hall as the cook, and will have the trait Leftovers.
  • Loves to Train - Characters who love to train will train whenever they get the chance. If the avatar has this interest, characters will get more EXP from training. Characters with this interest will be more likely to appear in the training grounds as a trainer, and will have the trait Trainee.
  • Loves to Walk - Characters who love to walk find marches to be the best part of their day. If the avatar has this interest, they will get a permanent +5 boost to their speed. Characters with this interest will be more likely to appear outside the fortress, and will have the trait Hike.
  • Loves to Work - Characters who love to work perform a lot of chores, and often carry the main load back at the fortress. If the avatar has this interest, you will get slightly more money from completing favors with cash rewards. Characters with this interest are more likely to be found working inside the fortress, and have the trait Drill.
  • Loves to Fight - Characters who love to fight never back down from a battle. If the avatar has this interest, they will get a permanent +5 boost to their strength. Characters with this interest will more often challenge you to a duel, cannot have the "weak" bane, and have the trait Warrior Blood.
  • Loves to Sleep - Characters who love to sleep are never too far away from a catnap. If the avatar has this interest, they will be able to use the bedroom once at noon and once at night, instead of just at night. Characters with this interest will be more likely to want to visit you in the bedroom, cannot have the "dedicated" boon, and have the trait Beauty Sleep.
  • Loves Pets - Characters who love pets can't live without them. If the avatar has this interest, pets will be trained faster. Characters who have this interest will be more likely to appear in the nursery and, depending on their preference between cats and dogs, have either the trait Cat's Meow, Wolf's Howl, or Cuddle Time.
  • Loves History - Characters who love history are familiar with it to a great extent. If the avatar has this interest, characters will be more likely to find weapons of the past. Characters with this interest will be more likely to appear in the library, and have the trait Battle Historian.
  • Loves Technology - Characters who love technology love having the latest tech and like to dabble in inventing. If the avatar has this interest, characters will be more likely to find weapons of the future. Characters with this interest will be more likely to appear in the laboratory, and have the trait Tech Junkie.
  • Loves Destroying Things - Characters who love destroying things are enthralled by the discovery of black powder. If the avatar has this interest, black powder weapons that are crafted will be of higher quality. Characters with this interest will be more likely to appear in the armory, giving discounts to powder weapons and ammunition when they do, and will have the trait Everything Bang.
  • Loves Helping People - Characters who love helping people always lend a hand when they can. If the avatar has this interest, favors will appear more often. Characters with this interest will be more likely to appear at the House of Scribes, giving discounts to healing items when they appear, and will have the trait By Your Side.
  • Loves Weapons - Characters who love weapons treat them like their children, adorning them with decorations and even giving them names. If the avatar has this interest, traditional weapons that are crafted will be of higher quality. Characters with this trait are more likely to appear in the armory, giving discounts to traditional weapons when they appear, and will have the trait Do It Yourself.
  • Loves Reading - Characters who love reading can never put a good book down. If the avatar has this trait, tomes, scrolls, and runes that are crafted will be of higher quality. Characters with this trait are more likely to appear in the House of Scribes, providing discounts to weapons in the House when they appear, and will have the trait Noteworthy.
  • Loves Music - Characters who love music live to the rhythm. If the avatar has this trait, the army will get a greater boost from performances. Characters with this interests are more likely to appear in Pubs, and have the trait In Tune.
  • Loves Horse Riding - Characters who love horse riding desire to see the world from the back of their steed. If the avatar has this interest, they can choose to get two free mounts instead of one once they get their fort, or can choose to get a better mount instead. Characters who have this trait are more likely to appear at the stable, and have the trait Equestrian.
  • Loves Swordplay - Characters who love swordplay can't get enough of swinging a sword. If the avatar has this interest, their sword proficiency starts at D instead of E. Characters with this trait will be more likely to challenge you to a duel, and have the trait Duelist.
  • Loves the Opposite Gender - Characters who love the opposite gender are constantly seeking a romantic relationship. If the avatar has this interest, they will be able to bond quicker with units of the other sex. Characters with this trait will be more likely to have conversations with allies of the other sex, and depending on gender, will either have the trait Demoiselle or Gentilhomme.
  • Loves Dragons - Characters who love dragons are enthused by the presence of the mythical beasts. If the avatar has this interest, they may choose to start with a free Wyvern instead of a free horse. Characters with this interest bond quicker with "dragon-based" characters and have the trait Dragon Tamer.
  • Loves Being Different - Characters who love being different go out of their way to do so. If the avatar has this interest, they will have a permanent +5 bonus to luck. Characters with this interest fight with a unique style and have the trait Self.
  • Loves Hunting - Characters who love hunting love the thrill they get from doing it. If the avatar has this interest, more food will be gained from hunting sessions. Characters with this interest will be less likely to appear at the stable and have the trait Beastbane.
  • Loves His/Her Parents - Only the Avatar's son/daughter Taylor will have this interest, and it cannot be chosen by the Avatar. Taylor will be more likely to have conversations with the Avatar's spouse, will be more likely to want to talk to the Avatar in the bedroom,and will have the trait Ties that Bind.
  • Loves Nothing - Characters who love nothing dislike others and the world. If the avatar has this interest, the support penalty from failing support missions will be decreased. Characters who have this trait will be less likely to appear in the fortress and have the trait Abrasive.
